About Jeremy

I like to think of myself as an artist. No matter what the media I look at my work as a piece of art work, and I will work with almost any media. I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil, or a crayon rather. It has been and probably always will be my push to create that drives my imagination. All through school I took art classes, while on the side I began to gain interest in music and writing. By the time I exited high school, I had already created a substantial portfolio of illustrations and drawings.

I went to college at Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah Georgia, majoring in Computer Arts, while minoring in drawing. My goal was to become an animator and work on making commercials and videos for entertainment and advertisement. All the while I still maintained my heavy interest in all arts, taking both music, sound design, and writing classes. Toward the end of college I began working quite heavily in Animation programs such as Maya. I even got a taste of the web world learning Html programming and Flash. I graduated college in 2005 cum laude with a BFA degree in Computer Arts and Animation, keeping my minor in drawing.

After graduating college I got a job working in the tech field learning more about computers repair, doing hardware replacement and installation, spyware removal, and routine computer maintenance. At the same time I worked as a freelance animator and began to hone my skills in the web development area. In the beginning of 2007 I got a job working with a company in Windsor Connecticut called Visual Concepts Inc.

Visual Concepts was a video production and web development company focused on taking the stories of their clients and turning them into videos and websites. I moved up the ranks at the company and ultimately became lead programmer of the web department, working on websites for clients such as Spalding, Honeywell, Peter Pan Bus Lines, Pilot Pen and many more. Unfortunately due to the economy recession in mid 2009 the Visual Concepts shut down.

I currently work as a freelance web designer and developer; however my roots are still ground firm in the basic arts. I find that with a background in fine arts and also animation web work becomes less of a programming trade but the creation of an interactive visual sculpture. It is always growing and the need to explore and advance techniques is never ending. I plan on continuing to work in this media and look forward to see where it will lead me.
